Tracy Wong was born in Macau and graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (First-class Honours) in 2013, majoring in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. During her studies, she was the recipient of The Margaret Zee Outstanding Performer Award, Dean of Dance Prize and more.
In recent years, she has predominantly collaborated with Mao Wei, a choreographer and dancer, with whom sheco-founded MW Dance Theatre. Their full-length duo work Shelf Life premiered in 2014, touring across Asian countriesIn 2014, she was invited to create Les Curieuses Franges with a local installation artist in Belgium. The work was re-run in Hong Kong in 2017 and developed into a full-length piece Les Curious Fringes, Blast of the Cave next year. Tracy and Mao are active in giving lessons at dance groups and festivals. She was invited to present her commissions and performances for HKAF four times, including for her solo work Sous Vide, the two duo works with Mao Mapping, Pardon, and Put Out the flame under Jos Baker’s direction. Mapping and Pardon were invited to tour at Hong Kong Dance Exchange, Seoul NDA International Dance Festival and Fukuoka Fringe Festival.
