Xie Xin

Independent Dance Artist

Xie Xin is a freelance dancer, choreographer and the founder of Xiexin Dance Theatre. She has been a dancer in Guangdong Modern Dance Company, Jin Xing Dance Theatre, Beijing TAO Dance Theater and BeijingDance / LDTX. She has won numerous awards in competitions such as the 14th Rome International Dance Competition, the 2nd Beijing International Ballet Dancing and Choreography Competition, the 29th International Choreographic Competition Hannover, and more.                      
Her work Falling and Plus was invited to perform in the Asia Pacific Dance Platform at the 42nd Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2014. In 2015 she was commissioned by the Chinese Dancers Association’s Young Artists Platform of Dance and produced From IN. In 2016 her new work UNKNOWN  premiered and she created Heard the Body for Shanghai Dance Theatre. She was invited as Hong Kong Dance Company’s first principal dancer. In 2018 she took part in Rite of Spring a collaboration between China and Portugal as a choreographer.
