Yang Chang

Independent Dance Artist

Yang Chang is a member of the Chinese Dancers Association and currently teaching at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Dance School. He graduated with a Master degree from Korea National University of Arts majoring in Choreography and was a dancer at Beijing Modern Dance Company. He has participated in arts festivals around the globe. His works include Maybe You too?, Two Persons and an Umbrella, I want a Home, You are My Mountain, Island and Meet Dailylife.
Yang was the recipient of the “Asian Art Talent” Scholarship from the Korea Government in 2010. In 2013 he won the 2nd Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition. In 2014 he was commissioned by the 16th China Shanghai International Arts Festival’s “Rising Artists’ Works” programme and choreographed the dance theatre piece Dusty.Clean. He was also the choreographer of Hunan Television’s 2015 Spring Festival Gala Evening. Yang was commissioned twice by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Chinese Dancers Association and China Literature and Art Foundation for their co-organized programme.
