Yang Hao was born in Chongqing China, and based in Hong Kong now. He received dance training in Beijing from age 12 to 16. He has performed for companies such as The Chinese National Opera and Theatre Dance Troupe, Guangdong Modern Dance Company, etc. He has received a full scholarship to study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Art in 2007, and joined the City Contemporary Dance Company as dancer from 2009 to 2012. He was resident artist in SIDance Festival Dance Exchange 2013, and as Dance WEB scholarship receiver for ImpulseTanz 2014. In 2015-2016 he was the first Arts Fellow at Yale University supported by Yale China and Hong Kong ETO. He has commissioned and showed his works in international festivals, such as Hong Kong Arts Festival for the productions Rush (2012); Outspoken (2014), Pied à terre (2016), Flying Me To The Moon (2018); Hong Kong I-dance Festival 2017, Middle New Haven international Festival Arts & Ideas 2016 for the work - Pied à terre and Middle. Since 2014 he started to collaborate with Alice Rensy. In 2017, they have received cultural exchange funding from Hong Kong Arts Development Council for showing their work in Guangdong Dance Festival and created together Variation for A4 Museum in Chengdu. Their new ongoing research is to twilling contemporary dance and stand-up comedy together. The Legend Of Hao Hao is the first staged work of the series, commissioned by the Jockey Club New Arts Power of Hong Kong Arts Development Council, curated & produced by orleanlaiproject in 2019. Yang’s new artistic exploration is to pursue his study in Master of Arts in Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong.
