Zhang Yixiang graduated from Beijing Dance Academy, majoring in Classical Dance and has worked for The National Ballet of China. His choreography works include The Chinese New Year, the Chinese version of The Nutcracker and has been on cultural exchange in a dozen countries. In 2013 he won the bronze award at The Seoul International Dance Competition Contemporary Dance Youth Group. In 2015 he was commissioned as a choreographer at the Young Artists Platform by the Chinese Dancers Association; and in 2016 by Kazakh Astana Ballet to create a contemporary ballet Mists of Time and In the Wake, a contemporary dance work which earned the main dancer of Kazakh Astana Ballet Bahtiyar multiple awards at international ballet competitions. In 2017 he collaborated with China Film Huateng and a Hollywood production team on the musical 5D+Memory as both a choreographer and member of the main cast. He is now a freelance dancer, choreographer and founder of Xiang Dance Space.
